MEET OUR STAFF
Anthony Angotti (Tony) immigrated to the United States with his family from Calabria, Italy in 1955. He attended Monroe High School to learn the English language. He worked at Bond Clothing then became an American citizen in 1965. Tony then went on to work at Sears and Roebuck Company where he excelled to be a Division Manager. It was at Sears he met his future wife, Beverly, whom he has been married to for 54 years. They have two daughters, Susan and Kimberly, three grandchildren and two great-grandaughters. He left Sears in 1971 to pursue retail sales. He opened an Italian delicatessen, Villa Romana, which was located in the Winn Jeff Plaza. Shortly thereafter, he introduced a liquor store in the same plaza. Tony sold both locations and opened Angotti Beverage Corporation in Batavia, NY in 1982. Due to the success of his original location, he expanded his locations to include Beers of the World in the Winton Place Plaza in 1986. In 2001, Tony contracted to have a new building erected to relocate his Batavia store. The new establishment now rests at the corner of Ellicott and Jackson Street. His vision and dream for expansion has been in the planning stages for over three years. He recently purchased the Wegman’s Plaza at the corner of East Henrietta Road and Calkins Road to better serve his clientele and the community by bringing a new customer base to Henrietta. This location opened in September 2010.
Tony also was a very active member of the Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of the Genesee Council #4812 and the Bishop Kearney Assembly since 1995. He was actively involved in many fundraising projects that benefit many people and organizations that are in need.
